The Program

MHK offers Spring internship opportunities, which typically run from mid January to mid April.  During the internship, you will be taught to prepare individual, fiduciary, partnership and corporate tax returns. There will also be opportunities to work on our audit teams as well. You will be able to gain real-world experience during your internship. You will work in a challenging environment, the same as a first-year professional, greatly enhancing your skill sets. All interns receive in-depth training prior to starting at MHK, including; tax preparation, audit, software and administrative training to help you succeed during your internship and in your future professional career.

Eligible candidates should be a senior or graduate student with at least a 3.0 grade point average. Additionally, candidates should have completed introductory accounting classes and be enrolled in or completed intermediate and advanced accounting classes including individual, partnership and corporate taxation. We expect our interns to apply the concepts learned in these classes to their internship.

Expectations & Flexibility

Unlike many other public accounting internships, MHK allows interns to attend school while engaged in our program. We expect interns to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, but full time internship positions are also available and preferred. This will give you time for Spring semester classes and school activities. We also offer our interns flexible schedules to work around their class and extracurricular schedules.

Compensation & Post Internship Opportunities

MHK offers their interns competitive hourly compensation, which will be commensurate with experience. Parking is also free.

You will have the opportunity to get an inside look at MHK by participating in the internship program. If the experience is positive for both you and MHK, there may be an opportunity for continued employment as a full time professional.
